Funeral: The family will hold a private ceremony.
He was born Oct. 21, 1945, to Mary Clampitt, and the late Russell "Jim" Clampitt in Stratford, Conn. Bob enjoyed a fulfilling career of 29 years at Frito-Lay where he developed many close friendships before retiring from his position of manager of information technology in 2000. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends as well as private, quiet introspection. He lived an adventurous and full life. Bob's appreciation of nature was evident by his love of driving across the country, hiking, flying planes, snow skiing in Aspen, Colo., sailing in a boat he constructed, and most of all, water skiing. He found great pleasure traveling, especially to Maui with his beloved wife. Those closest to Bob will remember him jumping the wake on Lake Arlington on a slalom ski, laughing and enjoying every moment. Additionally, Bob blessed his family with his amazing photography, a talent for poetry, and his quick, witty sense of humor. Bob was a very devoted and loving husband and father. His life and his memory bless all who knew and loved him and his zest for life. His spirit will remain forever in our hearts.
Survivors: His loving wife of 34 years, Yvonne Clampitt; daughter, Heather Clampitt; son, Chad Clampitt; sister, Ellen Stevenson and her husband, Donald; nephew, Marc Stevenson; niece, Andrea Stevenson and her husband, John Hewett; mother-in-law, Jere Hodge; close friends, Phillip Craddock and Jim Foulks and their families; and many other relatives, friends and former co-workers.

I am greatful that the Lord put Bob in my life for 40+ years. All those double dates and boating trips were so much fun. And I remember the day he came to the house just beaming. He told us about this young woman he had just met..........and we knew she was the one just from the look on his face. Yvonne you where the one who stole Bob's heart. What beautiful children the two of you produced.........a living legacy to a precious man.
I am grateful to Bob for the sweet friendship he shared with Phil. Phil's face alway lit up when he saw his best friend. They loved sharing their newest hobbies and projects with each other. Like brothers they were there for each other in the good times and the bad.
We love you, Terry

We are so very sorry to learn of you loss. There are no words at this time that can erase the sorrow that you feel but this little poem has given me comfort over the last few years with the loss of parents and loved ones. I hope that it may give you just a bit also. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.
"'I give you one
thought to keep,
'I am with you you still,
I do not sleep.
'I am a thousand winds
that blow,
I am the diamond glint
on the snow.
'I am as sunlight on
ripened grain,
'I am the gentle autumn
rain when you awaken
in the morning hush.
'I am the swift uplifting
rush of quiet birds in
circled flight,
'I am the soft stars that
shine at night.
'Do not think of me
as gone,
'I am with you still
in each new dawn.' "
