Memorial service: Service and visitation afterward will be 3 to 5:30 p.m. Friday at Granbury First Christian Church, 2109 W. Hwy. 377 (one mile west of the lake).
Memorials: It was Roger's wish that, in lieu of flowers or memorials, that each of us should do a good deed anonymously, with "that was for you, Roger" in our heart.
Roger was a UT graduate and a Navy veteran of World War II. He was a fabulous husband and a wonderful father, and all his life enjoyed a keen sense of humor as well as a marvelously musical soul. He was the owner of a printing and office supply company in Stephenville. He was president of the March of Dimes, Lions Club, chamber of commerce and Jacket Booster Club and was on the board of Sunbelt Savings and Loan Company, all in Stephenville. Roger was also branch manager of Granbury Savings and Loan, vice president and president of Granbury Chamber of Commerce, charter member of Granbury Industrial Foundation, president of Hood County Appraisal District and served on the board for 10 years. He was an associate of Century 21 for nine years and a Mason of Granbury Lodge. He was also an elder in Disciples of Christ Christian Church and a moderator of the board in Stephenville and Granbury.
Survivors: Wife, Frances Gideon of Granbury; son, Steve Gideon and Melanie Jones of Houston; grandson, Taylor and Jennifer Gideon; great-grandson, Avery Cash Gideon; daughter, Louan Gideon and Walt Borchers of Los Angeles, Calif.; and a host of wonderful friends.

The world is a sadder place without Roger, but I KNOW he is in a happier place and at peace. Our sympathies go out to you, Frances, and the rest of the family

Our association and memories of Frances & Roger Gideon are more than a book would hold. Roger was one of the finest and most sincere individuals I was ever associated with. Betty knows of his passing
and was very silent for awhile after I told her. We both send our love to Frances and children and we know Roger is resting in peace.

Frances - May all the beautiful memories and the wonderful life you shared with Roger give you comfort. He was a remarkable man that brought so much joy to so many lives. He left a mark on so many hearts, we were all lucky to have known this fine man. You both will always be a part of my heart. Love you dearly.
