Dear Mrs. Sledge:
I am so sorry to hear about Mr. Sledge. I read it at the airport Wednesday morning waiting to go to Maryland to visit our daughter and her family. My heart just stopped. Please tell Sherry, Brad, Steve, and Sally how sorry we are and that I was unable to go to the funeral. Mr. Sledge was so special to my family. We had such a good time togehter. I can't believe it's been 3 1/2 years since I last saw you both. Please know that you are in our prayers and I send my love to each of you.

Dear Mrs. Sledge and family,
I know from losing a husband to lung cancer and losing a father that family and friends will pull you through. God's promise is that the pain will fade into loving memories. God bless each one of you.
Love,
Deborah Thompson Hall

Dear Sledge Family:
We love you all so much and we have looked in awe over the years at what a special family you have. We loved seeing you at Possum Kingdom and at your house in Fort Worth. You have raised such special kids and we love Steve so much. Sam always showed his love to his family and was so darn funny. We will miss him and will pray for you all. What a legacy he has left on this earth and now he is in heaven and will always be with you.

What a privilege for my parents and me to have known Sam and Lillian. There are many fond memories, especially bridge games and stopping by over Christmas holidays. Just like my dad, Sam will be greatly missed and remembered as a faithful servant.
