Scott Dale Whittenburg

July 18, 1942 - November 5, 2024

Champlin, Minnesota - Scott Dale Whittenburg, age 82, longtime resident of Hurst, Texas, passed away peacefully on November 05, 2024.

Scott was preceded in death by parents, Dale and Leota, and loving wife of 57 years, Terrie.

Scott was born in Pueblo, Colorado and enlisted in the Navy after high school, honorably serving on the USS Nicholas during the Vietnam War. After military service, Scott held progressive leadership roles in the computer industry, culminating in Vice President of Business Products at Control Data. In later life, Scott began a successful sports memorabilia business with Terrie and was a wisecracking, loving "Coco" to his grandchildren. He was active in the Hurst community and a respected mentor to many.

Scott is survived by sister Lynn Reiboldt, children Ken (Kacey) Whittenburg, Aimee (Ryan) McNamara, Jen (Shane) Vendel, grandchildren Mairen McNamara, Donovan Vendel, Dillon McNamara, Evan Whittenburg, Elise Whittenburg, and nephew TJ Hardy.

A celebration of life for Scott and Terrie will be held in the DFW area at a later date.

Thoughts and prayers to the entire Whittenburg Family. Your dad, brother, uncle and Coco was a great human being and a dear friend for over 25yrs! Always there to help others without expectation or reciprocity. I will never forget his giving heart. God´s speed, my friend.
