Sister Sloan, such a sweet soul who always called me and my children, "baby". She always embraced us with such warmth and was always positive. I loved her encouraging spirit.
She will truly be missed.
Our prayers are with the family.

SHERRY AND I MET IN 1975 WHEN HER HUSBAND UNCLE ODELL MET AND MARRIED. SHE AND I HAD A VERY CLOSE BOND EVEN AFTER I WAS DIVORCED AND REMARRIED. SHE AND I SHARED SOME GREAT FUN TIMES TOGATHER. WE WOULD GO TO WINSTAR CASINO OFTEN AND HAVE ALOT OF FUN. THEN THER WERE TIMES WHEN WE WOULD JUST SPEND HOURS ON THE PHONE TALKING ABOUT FUN TIMES IN THE PASS DOWN HOME AT HER HUSBAND PARENTS HOME. WHEN THAT SONG WAS FIRST OUT-WE ARE THE WORLD- WE WOULD ALL GET IN A GROUP AND SING THAT SONG OVER AND OVER. IT WAS SOOO MUCH FUN. SHERRY AND I HAD SUCH A CLOSE BOND THAT WE COULD TALK ABOUT THINGS THAT WE WOULDN'T TALK TO ANYONE ELSE ABOUT. I WILL TRULY MISS MY FRIEND. I WENT TO HER HOME ABOUT A WEEK AND A HALF BEFORE SHE WENT INTO THE HOSPITAL AND SHE STATED THAT SHE WANTED SOME FRUIT AND I WENT AND GOT HER A FRUIT TRAY AND SOME HALOS AND SOME SPECIAL APPLES SHE WANTED. SHE WAS SOOO DELIGHTED WHILE EATING IT. REST IN PEACE MY FRIEND. ALL FROM YOUR AUNT RETTA

God has taken our flower from this dirt on earth, and planted her in his heavenly garden. I will so miss our monthly phone calls. Sherry had the sweetest personality of anyone I knew. MISS YOU MY DEAR FRIEND.

My mom said we called Sherry's husband Lil George, but for some reason I called him Wayne Sloan. I know that is not his name, but we had a nickname for everyone. So sorry for your loss. Sherry was a nice, kind person with a pretty smile. My prayers are with you and your family.

Sherry and my sister were classmates, but we all grew up and attended the same elementary, junior high and high school; including her husband Wayne. Sherry was a nice, kind person with a pretty smile. My sincere sympathy is extended to her family.

I have never known a kinder person. Your kindness to my mom and our family was so appreciated. You became part of our family, and a very good friend to me. I will miss your smile and always positive attitude. I will miss you.
