Steven Campbell Gilmore was born Dec. 20, 1944, in Springfield, Mass. Steve was a loving husband, son, father and brother. He was a gentle man and a friend to everyone he met. Steve graduated from Oklahoma Military Academy and Texas A&M University, and was very proud of his service as a lieutenant in the U.S. Army. Steve loved music, golf, reading and his beloved dog, Tony. He was preceded in death by his fathers, Maj. Leonard N. Campbell and Col. James David Gilmore.
Survivors: Wife, Georgiana Chenault-Gilmore of Houston; mother, June F. Gilmore of Fort Worth; son, David R. Gilmore of Auburn, Ala.; sister, Libby Gilmore of Fort Worth; brother, Kirk Gilmore of Santa Cruz, Calif.; several aunts, uncles, cousins and nieces; and many friends.

I only knew Steve for a few months. But he was a pleasure to be around. He made you feel like he was your friend forever. I will miss visiting with him on laundry days. Deepest sympathy to his family and friends.
