Sum Wong Obituary

Sum Lee Wong, 89, a retired pathologist, passed away Wednesday, June 6, 2007, in Arlington.

Funeral: 12:30 p.m. Monday in Wade Family Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Edward Leung officiating. Burial: 2:30 p.m. in Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, Dallas, Lane B. Visitation: The family will receive friends 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Wade Family Funeral Home, 4140 W. Pioneer Parkway, Arlington.

Sum Lee was born May 1, 1918, in Canton, China. He was proud of his service in the U.S. Army Air Force and was a veteran of World War II. Sum Lee was a former medical pathologist assistant for the medical examiner's office in New York City. He taught basic pathology for five years at New York University. Also a successful restaurateur, Sum Lee opened restaurants in Nassau County, N.Y., and Man Wah restaurant in Arlington on June 1, 1977. He had resided in Arlington for 30 years.

Survivors: Wife, Ha Wai Wong of Arlington; sons, Wai King Wong of West Chester, Pa., and Ming King Wong and Wing King Wong, both of Arlington; daughters, Anna Wong Leung of Stamford, Conn., Kim Wong of New York City, N.Y., Linda Wong Lok of Arlington and Elaine Wong Green of Floral Park, N.Y.; 26 grandchildren; and 28 great-grandchildren.
