Susan Raley

1952 - 2015

Susan "Susie" Raley, 62, of Burleson passed away peacefully in her sleep at home Thursday, July 2, 2015, after a long battle with chronic illness. Memorial service: 1 p.m. Wednesday at Lucas & Blessing's Chapel, 518 NW Johnson Ave., Burleson. Susie was born July 4, 1952, in Hobbs, N.M., to Thomas and Bertie Vance. She graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor of arts degree from Texas Wesleyan University in 1991. Susie never met a stranger and was loved by all who knew her. She served many people in her community over the years through her church ministry work. Her sisters of Beta Sigma Phi sorority grew to be an important part of her life over the years as well. By far, her favorite activity was to spend time with her grandchildren and children. Her light shone very bright and will continue to do so in the hearts and memories of those left behind while she watches from above. We all know that she is dancing with her red dress on already!! Survivors: Her good-looking husband of 37 years, Gilbert D. Raley; son, Jeremy Raley of Midlothian; daughter, Natalie Olsen of Tracy, Calif.; daughter, Jennifer Sitton of Fort Worth; brother, Tommy Vance; sisters, Marion Crowson, Lavelle Green, Patsy Norris and Judy Holland; grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Mason, Zackery and Levi Sitton, Lillian and Marek Raley, Frank, Harriet and Delilah Olson; and numerous beloved nieces, nephews and cousins.
