A funeral service for Jerry Dale Howard, 72, of Cleburne, will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, March 21, 2026, in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Funeral Home Chapel located at 512 N Ridgeway Dr, Cleburne, Texas with Reverend Matt Whitsell officiating. The graveside service will follow in the Nancy Smith Cemetery located at 1090 CR 2016, Glen Rose, Texas 76043. There will be a time of visitation for family and friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Friday, March 20, 20126 at the funeral home.
Jerry Dale Howard, beloved son, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on March 18, 2026, in Cleburne, Texas. Born on April 17, 1953, in Meridian, Texas, Jerry lived a life marked by an outgoing spirit, a deep love for family, and a passion for the outdoors that touched all who knew him.
He was widely recognized throughout Cleburne as a sports fan and an avid fisherman who cherished the tranquility and challenge of the great outdoors. His outgoing nature meant he never met a stranger; he was known by many and loved for his warm, approachable personality. One could often find him enjoying gatherings, where his vibrant presence and genuine care for others shone brightly.
Professionally, Jerry dedicated many years to his community, working for 17 years at McCoy’s Building Supply. His commitment to his work was as steadfast as his commitment to his family and friends. Family was the cornerstone of Jerry’s life.
Jerry was preceded in death by his mother, Georgia Mae Virginia Alexander Howard. He is survived by his father, Dale Dudley Howard; his siblings, Bobbie Gail Dorminy and her husband Gene, Marilyn JoAnn Luttrell and her wife Martha Zuniga, Emily Teresa Hearn and her husband Larry, and Gary Paul Howard and his wife Rita; his best friend and extended family member, Curtis Hoover, four nieces, five nephews, fifteen great-nieces and nephews; as well as his Colonial Manor Nursing Home family of over 10 years.
Jerry Dale Howard’s legacy is one of warmth, friendship, and the joy of living fully among those he loved. His presence will be deeply missed, but the imprint of his spirit will forever remain in the lives of his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
