A friends and family gathering for Sue Ambs, 73, of Grandview, will be held from 2:00 -4:00 PM on Saturday, March 21, 2026, at 5500 County Road 302, Grandview, TX 76050. The family requests donations be made to the Oak Hill Animal Rescue in memory of Sue and her love of animals at www.ohar.org.
Sue Ambs passed away on Sunday, March 15, 2026 in Fort Worth, Texas. She was born on January 9, 1953 in Crookston, Minnesota. Sue married Joseph Dean Ambs on April 9, 1983 in Mountlake Terrace, Washington. They were married 39 years at the time of his passing.
Sue was a devoted and active member of the Church of Jesus Christ Latter-day Saints, Cleburne, where she grew in her faith and enjoyed serving in any way, she was able to. She was a homemaker. Sue has been described as a feisty and strong-willed lady with an abundancy of confidence. She was an animal lover – of all animals, often taking in and adopting any strays that needed a home. Sue will be missed greatly by all who were blessed to know her.
Survivors include her children, Donald Smith & his wife, Teri, Joe Ambs & his wife, Angie, and Melony Ambs; granddaughter, Emily Ambs; siblings, John Jones, Elizabeth Jones, Kathleen Scott, and Richard Smith; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
