Tana Knight Obituary

Tana Jaunice Knight

June 18, 1943 - January 15, 2024

Carrollton, Texas - Tana Jaunice Knight, 80, passed away on January 15, 2024 with family by her side. Tana was born on June 18, 1943, in Arlington, Texas. She was the only child of Bob and Jaunice Moore. Tana is survived by her husband of 60 years, Aubrey Knight, her daughter, Sheila Callaway and husband Ronny Callaway, her daughter, Leah Peterson and husband Brad Peterson, and her only grandchild, Kaylan Peterson and husband Hunter Picard. The family is at peace knowing that Tana has gone to be with her son, John Rayford Knight, in heaven.

Tana graduated from Arlington High School in 1961. She and Aubrey married on June 1, 1963. Tana began her professional career in retail sales, then became the co-owner with her husband in the countertop business, Allen Drainboard Shop, Inc. Following Allen Drainboard Shop, Inc., she then became a nail technician. Aside from work, Tana was known for finding joy in the vibrant things in life, most notably Christmas lights, fireworks, music, and flowers. She was known for her boldness, her outgoing personality, and her love for sitting around and visiting with family and friends. Tana was most happy when she was surrounded by the ones she loved. Some of the family's fondest memories with Tana were created water skiing at Lake Bridgeport or gathered around the table playing games. One of Tana's favorite things in life was flowers. Her gardens and vases were always stocked with the most beautiful arrangements, and she would never smile brighter than when she was gifted a bouquet.

Tana's wishes were to have a small, private grave-side service with immediate family members only. The family would like to say their final goodbyes to Tana while she is surrounded by beautiful flowers. Private services will be held Friday, January 19, 2024, at her final place of rest beside her son, John, at Restland Cemetery in Dallas, TX.

In honor of Tana, please gather around the table with your family, turn up the most upbeat songs you love, and play a round or two of your favorite card game.
