Terry Foley Obituary

Terry Linn Foley entered heaven on Sunday, Dec. 20, 2015. He was surrounded by friends and family as he began his journey. God welcomed him to heaven and he was embraced by his parents, his mother-in-law, father-in-law, brother-in-law, and his dear friend Kathy. They all rejoiced as he became whole in God's presence. Service: Terry's life and his passage to heaven will be celebrated at St. John the Apostle Catholic Church in North Richland Hills at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 29. Memorials: in lieu of flowers, Terry would be honored with donations to the Wounded Warrior Project which he held dear to his heart. Terry, my beloved husband, and I spent 43 unbelievable years together. Married at 16, we traveled through life meeting the good times and bad times united. On a recent trip we sat on the beach embracing and acknowledging how God had blessed us with so much. He adored our daughter Heather and son Sheldon, and he reveled in our wonderful grandchildren: Kaela, Nathan, Jayden, Hunter, Kloe, Mariana and Briason. Our families were so very dear to him: his brother Joe, his sister Sandy who was such a tremendous help to him over the last three years, and his wonderful sister Beverly who held his hand and comforted me as he left this world. In marriage he gained many more brothers and sisters who all loved him as their own: Pete and Lee, Tom and Kathy, Bob and Anna, Bill and Debbie, Holly and Kevin, Jim and Suzie, and all of their children. He worked for over 30 years at the Fort Worth Star-Telegram and The Kansas City Star where he made many lifetime friends. He was the Cowboys' greatest fan in victory or defeat and he was perpetually seeking that big bass. He left a big hole in my life, but resides in my heart until we meet again. Survivors: Wife, Mary Ann Foley; daughter, Heather Foley; son, James Sheldon Foley; his beautiful grandchildren; brother; sisters; and his extended family and in-laws.

Mary Ann, our condolences to you and the Foley family. I have many good memories working with Terry at the S-T, and some others away from work as well. Terry definitely had his own drummer, and I always respected that. We had some great laughs, and what else can we ask for? RIP Terry.

Heather and family, my heart goes out to all of you at this difficult time. Your dad has been through so much and for this to happen it's hard to understand. He is no more pain and even though it seems very unfair he's in a better place.. Thoughts and prayers are sent your way. Love you, sis. Take care you will get through this.

We are deeply saddened for your loss but know Terry is in a better place and we will see him again. I will always cherish the memories of Little League, playing Nintendo football & baseball, the parties at Bud's, and hanging out. Terry was a good person and will be greatly missed. We hope our memories and prayers bring comfort to the family. Love Bill & Lou (Wimpy Loved the Penquin!)

Passionate, that is the best word I can use to describe Terry. Work, golf, friendship, sports, family, parties it didn't matter what is was he brought full passion to everything he did.
He has provided me a lifetime of stories and memories that I talk about today with those who didn't know him but I can't do him justice, you had to be around him to appreciate just how big of a personality he was.
May God be with the Foley family during this time of loss.
