Mr. Gayle was born in New Richmond, Ohio. He attended Ohio Military Institute and graduated from Herald of Westport High School in Kansas City, Mo. in 1936. He served four years in the U.S. Navy before becoming a manufacturer's representative in sporting goods and fishing tackle. Tony was an active salesman in helping establish and becoming president of the Southwest Tackle Market Assoc. and the Southwest Athletic Traders Assoc. and Market. He was president of the Tackle Representative Assoc. and held office in the Sporting Goods Representative Assoc. and received many awards for his selling ability. Tony retired in 1973, after 32 years of dedicated service as a salesman. His interest and investing in real estate and owning thoroughbred horses brought him great pleasure and enjoyment until he became ill with Parkinson's disease. Tony was a 50-year Mason, member of the Scottish Rite, and a Shriner. On Dec. 19, 1959, he married Betty Ann Stasny in Norfolk, Va., and they made their home in Dallas before moving to Arlington in 1973. Winter seasons were enjoyed at their home on Sanibel Island and Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.
Survivors: Loving and caring wife of 43 years, Betty; son, John W. "Bill" Gayle; granddaughter, Paige Martin and husband, Erik; grandson, Chris Gayle; and caregivers, Philippine Kingson and Cleo Harper.

Betty, I'm so sorry for your loss. I enjoyed getting to know both of you and being of service to you and Tony at the law office over those many years.
