Vincent LaVal Obituary

Vincent LaVal, 82, a retired director of Bauder Fashion College, passed away Thursday, April 22, 2004, in a Dallas hospital.

Funeral: 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Vincent DePaul Catholic Church, 5819 W. Pleasant Ridge Road in Arlington. Burial: noon Tuesday in D-FW National Cemetery in Dallas. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, with a 7 p.m. vigil at Wade Family Funeral Home, 4140 W. Pioneer Parkway, Arlington.

Vincent LaVal had been a resident of Arlington since 1969. He was a member of St. Vincent DePaul Catholic Church. Vincent was a World War II Army veteran and an honored recipient of a Bronze Star and Purple Heart. He fought in the Battle of the Bulge and received campaign ribbons from Africa and Europe. He was the director of Bauder Fashion College from 1969-1975. Vincent was a Dallas Cowboys fan and he loved to work in his yard.

He was preceded in death by brother, Lamont Lopez, and sister, Victoria Dyer.

Survivors: Wife, Margaret LaVal of Arlington; son, Rocky Warnke and wife, Barbara of Arlington; daughter, Shana Bearden and husband, Jim of Arlington; brothers, Leon Lopez, Raymond Lopez and Victor Lopez; sisters, Grace Sheely and Delores Moore; eight grandchildren.
