Virginia Cox Obituary

Virginia Minnick Cox, 86, beloved wife, mother and "Aunt Ginny" to many; of Burleson, Texas went to be with our Lord on September 27, 2025. She was born to Walter Lee and Nellie Mitchell Minnick on July 18, 1939 in Turnertown, TX.

Virginia moved to Roanoke with family and attended Northwest High School. She met the love of her life, Leroy Cox, and married on February 17, 1956. They had three children, daughter, Kathy Cox Nicholson Fickes and husband, Gary Fickes (deceased) of Colleyville, TX; son, Terry Cox of Fort Worth, TX and daughter, Susie Cox Knofs of Burleson, TX.

She had six grandchildren, (Jacob Cox, Amanda Nicholson, Cassie Nicholson DeMora, Brandy Knofs, Austin Knofs and Colton Knofs); two great-grandchildren, (Bentley Knofs and Legend Knofs); and numerous nieces and nephews.

Virginia and Leroy settled in Blue Mound where they started several successful businesses in the Fort Worth area. They moved to Burleson where Virginia ran Ginny's Health Food store for over 20 years. Leroy went to be with the Lord in 2008.

Family and church were Virginia's love. The family were raised spending a lot of time around the large family, traveling and attending and supporting the various churches they were members of over the years.

Virginia taught Sunday School, was a member of the choir and helped the various churches in any way she could.

For the last three years, Virginia lived at the Atria Assisted Living center in the Memory Care unit. The family would like to thank the staff at Atria along with the Lifted Hospice staff for providing excellent care for our mother.

Virginia was predeceased by her parents; husband; sibling, Lemoin and wife, Donice Minnick; sister-in-law, Betty Minnick; granddaughter, Amanda Nicholson and son-in-law, Gary Fickes.

She is survived by her brother, Jake Minnick.
