Virginia Hawkins Obituary

Virginia M. Hawkins, 86, died Saturday, March 17, 2007.

Funeral: 2 p.m. Wednesday at University United Methodist Church. Burial: Burrton, Kan. Visitation: 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Thompson's Harveson & Cole Funeral Home.

Memorials: Her memory may be honored with a gift to University United Methodist Church, 2416 W. Berry St., Fort Worth, Texas 76110.

Virginia was born Sept. 8, 1920, in Burrton, Kan. She graduated from Salt City Business College. She married the late Richard R. Hawkins on Nov. 10, 1940, in Coats, Kan. She was a member and longtime secretary of University United Methodist Church, where she was active in United Methodist Women and Clark Sunday School Class.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her sister, Dorothy M. Hoskinson.

Survivors: Her children, Michael R. Hawkins and his wife, Lynne, of Topeka, Kan., Jerome D. Hawkins and his wife, Sarah Jane, of St. Louis, Mo., Danny R. Hawkins and Carol L. Gil and her husband, Daniel, all of Fort Worth; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; brother, Herman D. Hoskinson and his wife, Jean, of Bartlesville, Okla.; and sister, Marguerite Parker and her husband, Wayne, of Corvallis, Ore.
