Walter Dittmar was a soldier's soldier and commanded the respect of all who he came in to contact with. He was ramrod straight and STRAC from head to toe, but always wore a big smile that said, "this is serious business, but you have to maintain a sense of humor".
The NCO courses I took under his instruction in the 80s helped me immeasurably during my military career.
God bless you Gloria and your family. Walter lives on in the hearts and minds of everyone whose lives he touched.

What a great story teller. What a good friend. I am sure he will be missed by all of those he came into contact with. I will remember Walt for the rest of my days. Rest in peace, Grady.
