Memorial service: 2 p.m. Wednesday in the chapel of First United Methodist Church of Fort Worth, 800 W. 5th.
Memorials: In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association.
Wayne Dillon was born Sept. 8, 1948, in Sydney, Australia, the son of Earl Leon and Lucy May Dillon. He was the second of four children. He grew up in San Diego, Calif., attended Kearny High School and Mesa Junior College. He served in the U.S. Marines from 1968 to 1974 during the Vietnam War.
Wayne was a retired computer electronics technician with the U.S. National Weather Service. He had been a member of First United Methodist Church over the last 15 years. He enjoyed country-western dancing, piano playing, traveling, camping and fishing, photography, bicycling, jogging, vegetable gardening, raising poultry and participated over the years in numerous marathons for various charities. He was predeceased by his father, Earl Dillon.
Survivors: Mother, Lucy May Dillon of Fort Worth; children, Melissa Hajovsky and husband, Adam of Houston, Douglas Wayne Dillon of Oklahoma and Jennifer Dillon of Fort Worth; brothers, Hilton Maxwell of California and Gregory Shane of Fort Worth; sister, Marilyn Kidd of Fort Worth; grandchildren, Jade Hajovsky, Blake Penny and Dylan Kelsey; former wife and mother of his children, Janie Peterson; several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
