Wayne "Butch" Nowell, Jr.
March 15, 1956 - December 29, 2021
Burleson, Texas - Wayne "Butch" Nowell, Jr., passed away suddenly on December 29, 2021 in Fort Worth, Texas.
Funeral services will be Noon, January 10, 2022 at the Meridian Civic Center in Meridian, Texas. Chief Blake Johnson will be conducting services. Viewing will be on Friday, January 7, 2022 starting at 5 P.M., at Lawson Funeral Home in Meridian.
Wayne Nowell, Jr., was born on March 15, 1956 in Fort Worth, Texas to Wayne Nowell, Sr., and Conchita Sellers. Wayne Nowell, Jr., started his law enforcement career with the Tarrant County Sheriff's Office in 1984. He held many titles through the years and worked for many different agencies. During his law enforcement career he developed long lasting friendships with his fellow officers. Wayne spent the majority of his time with the Johnson County Sheriffs office which he made his home. He married the love of his life, Lucila "Lucy" Leonor on July 22, 2017 in Burleson, Texas. Wayne will be truly missed.
Left to cherish his memories are his wife, Lucila "Lucy" Nowell; son, Mario J. Borges; granddaughter, Juliette Rose Borges; sister, Debi Batten and husband, Mike; other relatives and many friends.
Preceded in death by his father, Wayne Nowell, Sr.; mother, Conchita Sellers; and grandfather, J.W. Nowell.
Arrangements were entrusted to Lawson Funeral Home, Meridian, Texas 254-435-2792.
