William Pippin Obituary

William Earl Pippin
September 2, 1956 - April 9, 2023
Fort Worth, Texas - William "Pip" Pippin, 66, President and Owner of Cowtown Bus Charters passed away on Sunday, April 9th in Fort Worth. With his tough as nails attitude, he fought hard to stay strong for himself and his family.
Visitation: 5-7 p.m. Monday, April 17, 2023 at Laurel Land Funeral Home.
Funeral: 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 18, 2023 at Laurel Land Funeral Home with Committal at Laurel and Memorial Park, and then a Celebration of Life immediately following at the Oaks Event Center 13765 Southern Oaks Drive, Burleson.
William was born September 2nd, 1956, in Fort Worth Texas to Edgar and Lala Pippin. He graduated from Southwest High School in 1974 and attended UTA in Arlington, Texas, and was a member of the Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity.
William was known to most as Bill or Pip. He was a native Texan and started working at McDonalds while attending college and that started his career in the restaurant industry and his love for food. He eventually went to work as a manager at Pizza Inn, and made the absolute best Taco Pizza.
Pip never married but chose to be married to his career which made him very happy. When his mom started her own business at the age of 61, Pip decided to switch careers and was right by her side and helped navigate and grow the business. Pip was the guide and with his savvy business sense it jump started to more than what they ever could have imagined.
When his mom Lala (known as the bus lady) passed away and the torch went to Pip, he worked very hard to maintain and grow the company even further.
His love and respect for his mom and the legacy she started made him strive to work diligently to keep thriving and growing and was very successful in doing just that. Pip was a teddy bear at heart which not many people got to see that side of him. His number one priority was his sister and her family and his Cowtown family.
Pip was brilliant and navigated so well through some tough times at Cowtown with three devastating weather-related floods and then the pandemic which shut the bus industry down. Through all of that and his gallant effort Cowtown made it through and came out even stronger. Pip fought hard for his employees during the pandemic and did everything in his power to help them survive.
His passing will leave a large void that will never be filled and no one will be able to replace him. Pip was one of a kind.
Pip, we all love you! You worked your ass off to keep mom's legacy alive and she is so very proud of you. Thanksgiving and the Cowboy games will never be the same.
Bill "Pip" Pippin was preceded in death by his mother, Lala and father, Edgar.
He is survived by sister, Brenda Cross, her husband, Tony Cross; nephew Parker Cross (all of Fort Worth); cousin, Terry Pippin and his wife, Lisa; and his Cowtown Bus Charters family.
