Maurice Wolfe Obituary

Maurice Edwin Wolfe, 79, of Dell, Montana, passed away Monday, Nov. 6, 2023, at Barrett Hospital. Ed was born Dec. 23, 1943, to Maurice and Lucille (Anderson) Wolfe in Dillon, Montana. He was raised in that area and graduated from Dillon High School. Shortly after graduating he joined the National Guard. When he returned home to the ranch he would drive back and forth to Bozeman to attend business school. Ed's life was dedicated to working the family ranch and making the most of the life. In 1980, he met Marsha Mueller who at the time was herding sheep. Marsha offered to come to work on the ranch for him and of course he accepted because the couple hit it off and have been together for the last 43 years. When there was free time on the ranch, Ed enjoyed fishing, hunting, watching football, and the rodeo. He also enjoyed dancing with Marsha at the Dell Hotel. The couple shared many memories, sunrises, and sunsets on the ranch.

Ed was preceded in death by both parents; brother Harve Wolfe; and sister Margaret Ann Wolfe; his trusted horse "Powder," his loyal dog "Hitch," and his favorite steer "Elmer" (a gift Scottish Highlander from Ed's friend Al Decker).

He is survived by his sister Angela Wolfe.

Ed will forever be remembered for his saying, "It is what it is."

In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be directed to the Lima Fire Department in Ed's name.
