I had the pleasure of teaching Alex for a brief period of time at M.S.N. before transferring to M.S.S. I was so pleased to see him at the start of this school year. The biggest joy of being a teacher for me are the relationships that form with my students and watching them grow and change over time as they inch closer and closer to the person they will become. Not having a class of my own after taking a new position, Alex was a big part of filling this joy for me this year. He had a smile for me every time he saw me. He included everyone and excluded no one. I knew from the second I met Alex that he was the love of his parents lives. I am heartbroken that we do not get to see him develop into the great man he would have become. I will miss him terribly. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

We only knew Alex from my kids and him becoming friends at Groveport Recreation Center, but he was truly a wonderful, full-of-life type child, and we will all miss his smiling face and warm heart there at the gym. I saw Alex at the high school collision (drumline)concert on May 1st. This was the first time I had seen him since he completed elementary school at Madison. It was so nice to see his beautiful smile after 2 years. I spoke with him briefly, never imagining that it would be the last time we would meet. What a wonderful child! Alex was in my lunch period. He always seemed happy and wanted to cheer people up. He always knew how to brighten my day. I miss him dearly. It was such a horrible tragidy at school that half of our students left school because they couldn't handle it. We'll never forget a guy like Alexander Craig Deskins. r.i.p Alex.

Alex was funny, and smart, and just a wonderful person to know, I can imagine him before he died, waking up from the medical induced coma and telling a joke and trying to cheer everybody up. This has been so hard on everyone who knew him, and people who didn't. Knowing that someone could die so young makes me think how precious life really is. I remember, last year I had a suicidal friend and he kept telling her that life is to amazing to give up, especially with someone like [Alex] in your life! I don't want to let him go, but he has taught us a great lesson, in that life is truly a wonderful thing and that no matter what, we need to live through things. I will always remember Alex's smile and all the jokes he's said. I want him next to me at school, helping me with AM just like in 6th grade. I had the pleasure of having Alex in my math class my first two years of teaching. No matter what, he always had a smile on his face (and I don't think he liked math very much...haha). He always knew how to make everyone laugh and had the biggest heart of anyone I knew. He was outgoing, friendly, extremely smart, and kind. Anyone who knew Alex should consider themselves very lucky. Alex was my bestfriend. We knew eachother sence we were about 5-6yrs old. We had so many memories together. I miss him so much. I am keeping you guys in my prayers. Alex was in my daughter's Claire lunchroom period. I saw Alex with his Mom, Dee Dee at work on occasion throughout the years at Ginger's Little Lamb Daycare. Alex was a very kind and polite young man. Claire has been tears. Claire's father, my husband passed away a little over a year ago. I told her that her father would welcome Alex, take him fishing and camping and watch sport events together. Claire laughed. Alex liked sports a great deal. We will see them both again when it is our time to go home.

My little Jessica died in a car accident last year and she was just 12 years old. I know and feel the pain you are going through on a daily basis. Just know evan though it's not easy he is with the lord. He's someone's else gaurdian angel. Don't do the what if's because it tears you apart. Someday you will see him again, and get to love and hold him again. I'll get to do that sometime with Jessica. If you ever want to get together just get ahold of Kathy and Carlos Spaulding and they know how to reach me. I know what your going through and it's not easy at all you feel as if your life is over. The only thing that keeps you going is your children and remember that they need you more now than ever before.

This is Alex's 5th grade teacher, Karen Carlson. Alex is warmly remembered as a one of those students who made coming to work a true joy. I remember him as an engaging, caring, hard working, and fun student. I also remember his love for WV football! I, too, lost a child...not in an accident but to disease. Nonetheless, I know that the way to endure the pain is to live your best life in his memory. God's strength to you and your family.

I know you know my daughter Halli Herzberg and How much she adored your son. I remember talking to him one night on the phone last year as I do with Halli's friends. I was teasing him about his West Virginia background (my family is from there also) He was such a wonderful child. So polite, so kind. I try to keep my kids around those type of children. There is one story that sticks out about Alex to our family, my mom always called him "dimples" because he could light up your day with that wonderful smile! We never seen Alex in a bad mood always happy and full of life wanting to play with my 2 year old son calling him his little buddy taking him walks in the wagon!

I knew Alex from several years back. My daughter went to daycare and Kindergarten with him. He was a wonderful sweet child. I am so very sorry for what has happened. All my condolences go to Dee Dee and Craig and there family. You are in our prayers.

There are no words to express my sorrow for you. Alex was a wonderful kid who brightened up the lives of the people he touched. He was a great addition to the family at Ginger's Little Lamb, and the kids love him.
