PELAY Alice May Pelay, age 81, passed away May 17, 2011 at the Laurels of Norworth. Born December 21, 1929 in Freeport, Illinois to the late James and Mae Bean Frankenfield. Worked at Battelle Memorial for 10 years in the 1960's; Co-owned a business (Chips Enterprises a Snack Food Business and Snyder's Potato Chips of Berlin..) with her husband for 15 years. Preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, George Pelay, who were married July 18, 1952, brothers Robert and James Frankenfield. Half our family's heart is missing without Mom's sweetness, cute personality and smile she will be sorely missed by not only her family and friends but by the aids and nurses at Laurel's of Norworth where they would all purposely go to see her just to get a smile and a laugh. Survived by her loving daughters, Valerie (Steven) Dountz, and June (Chris) Waldo; grandson, Christopher Dountz; nieces, nephews and friends. Friends may call The O. R. WOODYARD CO. June and Family
I was saddened to hear of Alice's passing - I am sorry I could not be at the services but I hope you know that she will be missed. Ever since I worked with George at Excel - I have tried to keep in contact with Alice and she was such a lovely lady.
June, I appreciated you keeping me updated and your sympathy with the loss of my mother last August. Please keep in touch.
All of you are in my thoughts and prayers and please know that God is holding her in his arms. Rebecca Frederick
