Allida Hockett Obituary

Allida Rose HOCKETT Age 62, of Seattle, Washington, passed away at Northwest Hospital January 15, 2008 after a positive, courageous, and gracious five month battle with pancreatic cancer. Allida was born January 30, 1945 in Denver, Colorado. She met her husband to-be in the mid 60's while they were in training to become radiology technologists at General Rose Hospital in Denver. They were married August 7, 1965 and moved to Seattle a year later. She is survived by Bob, her husband of forty-two years, daughter, Cyndi (Rick), grandson, Nolan, her son, Darrin (Angel), grandson, Cameron, her sister, Allicia, co-workers/friends, and other special relatives. Allida loved her family with much devotion. She also loved her work in Diagnostic Imaging at Northwest Hospital, where she was a faithful employee for twenty-five plus years. She enjoyed nature, the mountains, the seaside, hiking and walking. Much of her free time was spent in her beautiful, peaceful yard with hummingbirds present year round. She also enjoyed photography, especially taking pictures of Nolan. His six and one-half years are well documented by his grandma. We will remember her life well lived - all the happy precious memories - her steadfast faith in God - her beautiful brown eyes and sweet smile. Thank you all for your expressions of love, support, and sympathy. Family service planned. Donations can be made to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network, 2141 Rosecrans Ave., Suite 7000, El Segundo, Ca. 90245. Arrangements entrusted to Evergreen-Washelli.

Allida was my dental patient for the past 7 years and I always looked forward to seeing her. She had such a sweet and warm smile and personality and I will miss her so. I am greatful to still have the pleasure of Bob, Alicia and Cyndi's visits. Her spirit was amazing during her final months. I admire that so much.
With my deepest sympathy,

Dear Allida's family,
We know that words cannot heal the pain of losing someone so dear as Allida, but may God give you the strength to overcome the pain. May God's blessing and the memories of your dear Allida support you forever.
Allida fought her cancer with such dignity, grace and courage. We felt so honored just to know her and we will always remember and miss her dearly. It's so hard to say goodbye but Allida's memory will live on forever.
We pray that the Lord gives you guidance during this most difficult time.

Cindi,
I am so sorry to hear of your moms passing. My husband has so far sucessfully been battling cancer adn I know how exhausting it is for all. Please know that we are thinking of you and your family. I remember your Mom coming into our classroom at Concordia and helping out and being a "ROOM" mom. She was one of my favorite Moms. Im so sorry for your loss.

Dear Family of Allida,
When I think of Allida, the word "kindness" continally goes through my mind. She was so consistant, nothing seemed to change that.
In Colossians 3:12 Paul the apostle wrote: "Put on then, as God's chosen ones, holy and beloved, compassion, kindness, lowliness, meekness, and patience." Allida's life was a manifestation of all those Godly qualites. She was also one of the most gentle and soft spoken people I have ever known, and her patients loved her. She will be greatly missed; without a doubt she is our loss but heaven's gain."

I am the repairman that fixed Allida's scanner when it broke. It was always a pleasure to work with her. I shared her love of photography and we spent many hours discussing cameras and photography. I am very sorry for your loss. Allida will be missed.

Allida's memory will live on in so many of our hearts. Her kind and compassionate care as a Technologist has been an example to all in our field. I feel my career has been enriched by having the opportunity to work with her for 12 years. May her loved ones find peace in the many happy memories they will always carry with them.
