Alvin Babbert Obituary

BABBERT Alvin G. Babbert, 76, of Columbus, died Saturday, July 16, 2011, after a battle with cancer. He was born June 9, 1935 in Columbus and was a middle child of ten. Al served in the U.S. Air Force as an Aircraft Mechanic in the 330th Bomb Squadron, Castle, AFB, California. He worked as a plumber and retired from E.C. Babbert, Inc. Al enjoyed spending time with his family; sitting on his patio watching his birds and tinkering around the house. He was a strong, quiet, loving, caring man who would help anyone. Preceded in death by his parents Henry and Lucille Babbert. Al will be missed by his loving wife of almost 51 years, Barbara; son, Shane; siblings, Jean England, Joann Rhinehart, Robert H. (Pauline) Babbert, Wayne (Lois) Babbert, Bonnie (George) Bragg, Ronald K. Babbert, Marilyn Herd, Harold Babbert, and Richard Babbert; brother-in-law, Robert E. (Toni) Taylor; sister-in-law, Kimberly Kaye Taylor; many cousins, nieces and nephews, including Meghan, Robby, and Lucky; and long time friend, Allan Bartholic. Family will receive friends Tuesday, from 6-8 p.m. and again Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at SCHOEDINGER EAST CHAPEL, 5360 E. Livingston Ave., Columbus, where the funeral service will be held Thursday, July 21, 2011 at 10 a.m. Interment at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.
