Amy Holbrook Obituary

Holbrook Amy L. Holbrook, departed this world on April 2, 2017 after a fight against cancer that she took to the very end. Born on July 1, 1958, Amy left us too soon, and with the difficult task of keeping her obituary from filling an entire page because of her bright personality, positive outlook and life of good works. The are so many fun stories and great memories; Amy brought love, joy, laughter and support to all she met. She was a beautiful sister, an unparalleled favorite aunt, a friend always there to lean on. She served others and her church, Gateway Community Church, faithfully and always before herself. She received numerous visitors in her final days, the number of which was surprising to her but not to those who knew her. That was Amy: loved by all, but always unassuming. She treasured her church family at Gateway. The outpouring of love from them during her illness was a tribute to how she lived her life. Amy was preceded in death by parents Joseph R. and Wilma S. Holbrook. She is survived by brothers, Steve (Lori) Holbrook and Pat (Diana) Holbrook; and sister, Nancy Holbrook. She was a loving aunt to nephews, Michael Miller, Jacob Holbrook, Kaden Holbrook and Josh Clark; and nieces, Rian Miller, Katie Durborow, Karena Johnson and Danielle Clark. Amy also cherished her great-nephews, Adam and Travis Ryland-Davis, and Tucker Sweeting; and two great-nieces, Abigail Sweeting and Lily Miller. A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday, April 15, 2017, at Gateway Community Church, 8794 Big Bear Avenue, Powell, OH. Refreshments will follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be directed to Gateway Community Church.

For the past 35 years Amy has been a part of my life at two different companies. Within the office she was always a moderating influence and to our clients she was the face or the company. Our associates throughout the US and in Mexico, France and China agree that she was a very personable and warm human being - something rare in today's world. Amy was an individual that everyone loved and will be sadly missed.

Remembering Amy fondly. A friend in high school, she was always to be found with a smile on her face and something nice to say. Her pain and suffering are now over as she is joyfully reunited in heaven with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and all who have gone before her.

Much sympathy to Amy's family and friends. Amy, you were always very loving and giving. I remember you as a young girl and my best friend, Nancy's, sister. We giggled and laughed and your red curly hair shook as you smiled and smiled with God's love glistening in your eyes. Reconnecting with you all in the last few years has been rejuvenating. I hope you will rest in comfort that you made the world a better place. With the Angels, Rest In Peace. Love Always, Carolina
