Bernadette Metzger Obituary
Sister Bernadette Metzger, a Sister of Notre Dame de Namur, who was born in Columbus, Ohio, died on September 15, 2017, at the age of 86 in the 67th year of her religious life. Her passing is mourned by the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur, her sister Patti Wolff, her brother Daniel, and many loving and loved nieces, nephews and friends. Sister Bernadette taught in elementary schools in Hamilton, Dayton and Columbus, Ohio, and Detroit, MI as an excellent Junior High teacher. Sister spent many active years in using her math skills in various ministries and as finance assistant in Ohio and Boston Provinces finance offices. Besides her ministry in the Finance Office, Bernadette was very involved at Good Shepherd Parish as a Lector, a Hospital Eucharistic minister and very committed to the R.C.I.A. program. Bernadette loved accompanying people on their faith journey. The visitation will take place Tuesday, September 19, 2017, from 1:30-2:45 at Mount Notre Dame Health Center, 699 E. Columbia Avenue, Cincinnati, OH (513-821-7448), followed by the Mass of Christian burial and interment. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Retirement Fund of the Sisters of Notre Dame, 701 E. Columbia Avenue, Cincinnati OH, 45215.
