Beverly Kimber Obituary

KIMBER Beverly A. Kimber, age 79, passed away September 2, 2009. Born November 22, 1929, to Leroy and Cleo Filson in Petoskey, Mich., Beverly (Bev) will be remembered as a dedicated and loving mother to her family and as a compassionate and kind companion to her friends. Despite serious family challenges and a tumultuous childhood spent in a children's home and foster care, Bev became a good student and graduated with distinction from Sandusky High School in 1947. Declining the offer of a college scholarship, she preferred to begin her working career, and started her family soon thereafter. Bev was a diligent and well-liked employee who had exemplary administrative and secretarial skills and retired from the Ohio Education Association as executive secretary to the President after 25 years of dedicated service. Bev is survived by her sons, Cory (Tina) and Kim (Noreen); her grandson, Doug (Amber); and three great-grandchildren, Lexi, Devlin, and Fury Kimber. She is also survived by her brother, Jim (Gloria) Marks of Canton, with whom she was joyously reunited after nearly 50 years (she and her two brothers and two sisters were put up for adoption in 1938). Jim, who was adopted, located Beverly through public records and his relationship with her since has been a great joy to her and her family. Those friends who wish can make contributions to an adoption agency of their choice in her name. EGAN-RYAN FUNERAL HOME EAST CHAPEL, 4019 E. Livingston Ave. in charge of arrangements.
