Bob P. Bookman

BOOKMAN Bob P. Bookman, age 80, died Sunday, August 7, 2005. Born in Boaz, WV. Bob proudly served his country as a U.S. Navy V5 Aviation Cadet. He was also a graduate of Marietta College. Bob taught at Williamstown High School and began the football program there. He was an accomplished basketball player and played golf as often as he could. Bob retired from IBM in 1990 after 35 years service. Residing many years in Reynoldsburg, Bob was actively involved in the education and athletics of his sons. He was interested in nature and an avid hunter. Preceded in death by parents Dewitt and Blanche of Williamstown, WV. Survived by wife of 57 years, Marye Nell (Hall) Bookman; brother, Atlee (Bette) Bookman of Williamstown, WV; sons, Michael Parker (Patti) of Pataskala, OH, Robert Hall (Lee Ann) of Galena, OH, David Alan (Shari) of Mason, OH; Bob was "Pop-Pop" to grandchildren, Justin, Adam, Brynn and Jennifer. Bob is also survived by nephews, Scott and Craig Bookman; niece, Leslie Male; and dear friends of many years who shared in Bob's wonderful life. Family will receive friends Thursday 6-8 p.m. at COTNER FUNERAL HOME, 7369 E. Main St., Reynoldsburg and one hour prior to the service at the church. Funeral Service will be 11 a.m. Friday at Reynoldsburg United Methodist Church, 1636 Graham Rd. Burial at Glen Rest Memorial Estate. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations should be made to the American Red Cross in Bob's memory.
