Bobbi Shaffer Obituary

Shaffer Bobbi Jo Shaffer, 36, of Columbus, passed away at Mt. Carmel East Hospital on March 7, 2016. Bobbi Was born October 4, 1979 in Columbus to Jim Roberts and Jeanette (Vieth) Fairchild. She was a graduate of West HS and has been employed the past 15 years with Nationwide Insurance where she had many, many friends, who will attest to the fact she liked to know everything was about her. Bobbi was involved with Donate Life and Lifeline of Ohio, having been the recipient of a heart 12 years ago. She defied the odds by not only out surviving the odds she was given, but by outdoing herself in the three half marathons and multiple 5K races she completed. Most notably, she was only 1 of 33 woman to have given birth to a child after a heart transplant. She is survived by her mother, Jeanette and her dad, Carlos Fairchild; daughter, Veronica (Brad Heisler); and son, Gavin Shaffer; siblings, Susan Fields, Barbara, Beulah, Harrison and Jennifer Ash, Barbie (Cory) Elam, Samual, Mitch and Jessie Farichild, Melissa Smith, Leslie Norris and James Roberts; and other extended family. She was preceded in death by her grumpypaw George Vieth. Visitation will be held from 1-4 p.m. at SCHOEDINGER NORTHEAST, 1051 E. Johnstown Rd., Gahanna on Sunday, March 13, 2016, where a funeral service will be held Monday at 11 a.m. with Pastor Faron Tabor officiating. Burial will follow at Union Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make contributions to Donate Life at donatelife.net or Lifeline of Ohio at lifelineofohio.org. At the family's request, please bring a small photo of Bobbi to visitation to display and leave for the family as well as sharing photos, memories and condolences online at www.schoedinger.com

Bobbi was a great friend to anyone she crossed paths with. She was all about having a good time, enjoying life & loving her two children. My prayers are with her family and her precious babies. May God watch over them! Rest in peace my friend.

Bobbi Jo and I have been friends for well over 15 years now. Met at Nationwide and just hit it off and became great friends. She was a fighter and always kept her head held high even when she wasn't feeling her best. She was a very strong person and a wonderful mother and I'm so glad I met her, became friends and made all the memories we made together and there is a lot of them. I still cant believe this and I'm so very sad and will miss her very much. I'll continue to pray for her family and her two beautiful children. Love you Bobbi Jo!!

Bobbi was and always will be in my heart. She always had a smile when I saw her. We could always joke around about a comment that was once made to her. She touched many hearts and will be missed by those who knew her.
To her children, be proud of your Momma, she definitely was extremely proud of you. She spoke kind loving words about you all the time and I know she loved you both beyond words. Remember the goods times. Remember her Courage and drive. Keep it close to you and live it in your future.
I send my love to all of you.
