Bonnie McCullough Obituary

McCULLOUGH Bonnie Jean McCullough, age 99, of Upper Arlington, went home to be with her Lord, Tuesday, December 11, 2012. Bonnie Jean was born in Coffeyville, Kansas, daughter of the late Walter and Inez Martin. Also preceded in death by her beloved husband Thomas McCullough and brother Robert Humphreys Martin. Bonnie Jean grew up in Grandview and graduated from Grandview High School, Class of 1931 and while there, she was crowned Grandview's very first Homecoming Queen in 1930. She attended The Ohio State University and was a member of Alpha Zi Delta. Bonnie Jean was a very loving and beautiful woman who always put her family above all else. She loved nothing more than attending all her grandchildren's events and was famous for hosting their favorite Tuesday night dinners. Bonnie Jean was a trained opera singer who loved music, flowers and family. She was a member of many civic organizations, Past President of the Northwest Woman's Club and a past member of Grace Brethren Church and Brookside Country Club where she and her late husband enjoyed playing golf together. She will be greatly missed by her children, Jane Gerlach, Joan (Phillip) Markwood and Robert (Diana) McCullough; grandchildren, Jim (Anne), Scott (Kyle), Andy (Christy) and Bob (Susan) Gerlach, Jill (Stacy) Payne, Megan (Mark) Pfister, Matt (Beth) Markwood, Mike (Yadi) and Tom (Jill) MCullough, and Merry (Steve) Milliken; great-grandchildren, Jimmy, Hilary and Ali Gerlach, Samantha (Jason) Kuehn, T.J., Judd, Corey, Rex, Gracie, Emily, Charlotte, Robby and Jed Gerlach, Gabby Payne, Tyler and Jackson Pfister, Wesley and Aaron Markwood, Luke, Abigail, Ethan, Drew and Brady McCullough, and Jacob and Landry Milliken; great-great-grandson, Carter Kuehn. Memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, December 15, 2012 at SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST CHAPEL, 1740 Zollinger Rd. Rev. Brad Gibson officiating. Private family interment. Bonnie Jean's family would like to thank her caregivers, Nancy, Mary Rose, and Kathy for the care and love they gave to Bonnie Jean. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Nationwide Children's Hospital, P.O. Box 16810, Columbus, Ohio 43272-5117. I never knew your mom but you were my surrogate mom when I needed you and I am sure it was your mom who taught you to be such a wonderful mama even to those who weren't even yours to begin with, like me.
