1972 - 2018
Brian A. Beach, 45, of Newark, passed away at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus, OH, on Friday, August 24, as the result of a head injury. He was born October 3, 1972, in Newark, OH to Lynne and Virginia (Wilson) Beach. Brian graduated from Newark High School in 1991. He attended Hocking College and then continued his education in many areas of police and fire service. Brian had recently been hired as the Fire Marshal at Pleasant Valley Joint Fire District in Plain City. Before that he was a firefighter, EMT-advanced, and fire inspector for 13 years at Norwich Township Fire Department in Hilliard, OH. Brian was also currently employed as a police officer at Madison Township in Franklin County. Previously, Brian had worked at Newark Township Fire Department, Kirkersville Police Department, Plain Township Fire Department in New Albany, and the Madison Township Fire Department in Franklin County, and as an Officer and Detective for Madison Township Police Department. He was a member of the Norwich Township Fire Department Honor Guard, and The International Association of Firefighters Locals #3475 and #1723. He attended the Grove City United Methodist Church (Purple Door Church). He is survived by his parents; and his beloved children, Abbey and David Beach and their mother, Michele Gilmore Beach. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Brian's memory to Get Behind the Badge at www.getbehindthebadge.org, or the Grove City United Methodist Church at 2650 Columbus St., Grove City, OH 43123, or to Abbey and David's College Fund C/O Edward Jones Investments, 20 S. 30th St., Newark, OH 43055. Visitation will be held at VGF Church in Heath, OH, on Wednesday, August 29 from 4-7 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 30 at 10:30 a.m., at the church, 4905 Jacksontown Rd., Heath, OH 43056, with Pastor Dennis Mohler officiating.
