Carl W. Eckert, age 89 of Columbus passed away Wednesday, May 19, 2021. Carl was born in Butler, KY to the late Ben and Anna (Hogel) Eckert. Following his high school graduation, Carl attended Divinity School and later moved to Columbus. He retired from Nationwide Insurance as a Computer Analyst after 30 years of faithful service. Following his retirement, Carl graduated from the Wallpapering Institute of Rutland, VT and began his own wallpapering business, Kit Kat Décor. He had many loyal customers here in central Ohio and throughout the United States. Carl was an active member of the German Village Society and the German Village Garten Club as well as the American Motorcycle Association. He was a member of Gates Fourth United Methodist Church and volunteered for the church's famous Chicken Noodle Dinner. Carl will be remembered for his jovial spirit and always having a smile on his face. He never knew a stranger. Carl is survived by his husband of 60 years, Elton Wilson; sisters Willa Sturgill and Mary Krauss; and several nieces and nephews. I knew Carl as a result of working with Elton at Ross Labs. Carl was a sweet & talented man...his great cooking was enjoyed by all those attending the parties he & Elton hosted over the years. Always had a smile and made you feel welcome in their lovely home ! Rest in peace, Carl !!

Elton, I just learned of Carl´s passing. I am so sorry. I remember him as being so thoughtful and helpful. I still have the wallpaper border he installed for me. I know this is late, but my deepest sympathy. Judy in Texas.
