Carl Matthews Obituary

Matthews Carl C. Matthews, 84, of Columbus, passed away at his residence on October 27, 2015. Born on March 4, 1931 to the late John and Mizzie (Prater) Matthews in Portsmouth, OH. Carl served in the Navy during the Korean Conflict. Survived by special friend, Charlene (John) Hull; nephews, John (Unice) Matthews and Ron Levi; sister, Betty Wagner; and many loving nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by daughter Denise Thomas, son Carmon Matthews and ten siblings. Friends may call at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, NE Chapel, 3047 E. Dublin Granville Rd., Columbus, OH on Monday, November 2, 2015 from 5 p.m. until time of service at 7 p.m. Burial at Blendon Central Cemetery, Westerville, Ohio on Tuesday at 10am. Memorial contributions may be directed to Capital Area Humane Society, 3015 Scioto Darby Executive Ct., Hilliard, OH 43026.
