Carla A. Morgan, age 60, transitioned on January 15, 2021. On June 29, 1960, Carla Armetta Morgan was born to Albert and Dorothy Morgan in Columbus, Ohio. Carla was a graduate of Eastmoor Academy High School where she later went on to receive an Associate's Degree from Columbus State Community College majoring in Social Services. Following graduation, she worked for J.P. Morgan Chase, formerly known as Bank One, where she would retire after 25+ years of dedicated service. Carla was a devoted Mother and made sure to put her children first no matter the circumstance. She loved her children unconditionally and remained consistently proud of their accomplishments. Carla was also a very active member of Mount Vernon Avenue A.M.E Church where she held several positions including a position on the Senior Usher Board, Young Adult's Usher Board, Trustee Position for several years, and let's not forget 'Carla's Closet' where she donated large amounts of clothing to those in need. She also was a huge help throughout the community with yearly clothing donations, food drives, and regularly worked the Voting Polls as a Volunteer. Carla had an amazing spirit, an infectious personality, spunk that was unmeasurable, and a smile that lit up a room. It was almost impossible not to laugh around Carla and if you ever were in attendance for one of her birthday parties, you know she not only was the star of the night, but she made everybody feel welcome. Carla leaves to cherish her memories daughter, Christina L. Howard; son, Charles W. Howard III; brother, Gregory A. Morgan; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and beloved friends. Carla was such a loving and caring person – she will be greatly missed. Calling Hours Thursday, February 4, 2021 from 10am until time of service at 11am at Mt. Vernon AME Church, 1127 Mt.
