Carolyn Louise Ernest

Carolyn Louise Ernest,75, of West Frankfort passed away at 1:50 p.m. Sunday, September 27, 2009 at the Herrin Hospital. She was born September 17, 1934 in West Frankfort to Carthol Walston and Margaret (Teague) Walston. She married Gene E. Ernest on December 4, 1954 and he preceded her in death on November 29, 1995. Survivors include a daughter, Jeanna and husband, Ed Gutierrez of West Frankfort and three grandchildren, Alex, Erika and Jake Gutierrez. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Gene and a brother, Al Walston. She was a member of the First Christian Church in West Frankfort. She taught at Lincoln School in West Frankfort and retired as a Supervisor from the Illinois Dept. of Public Aid in the Marion office. Funeral services will be Tuesday, September 29, 2009 at 1 p.m. at the Parker - Reedy Funeral Home in West Frankfort with Minister Gene Fox officiating. Burial will be in the Tower Heights Cemetery in West Frankfort. Visitation will be after 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
