Downs Carter Zachriah Downs, 2, of Junction City, passed away October 14, 2016. Carter was born March 10, 2014 in Lancaster, OH to Joseph "Eric" and Julie Downs. Carter touched many lives and was loved by all who met him. He loved tickle time and spending time with his family. He was a free spirit who loved being naked with only his shoes on. Carter was a happy boy who loved nothing more than to cuddle. Often, those cuddles would include his favorite Red Dog Pillow Pet and the closest fuzzy blanket. Carter loved to play and would often be caught jumping on the trampoline, pretending to ride Andrew's dirt bike, playing ball, taking walks, playing peek-a-boo with anyone who was available, riding his scooter, swinging and playing with his pets. His love of life was reflected in his drawing and the love he shared with everyone. Carter is survived by his parents; siblings, Hayden, Madison, Andrew and Rylie; grandparents, Andy and Polly Schmittauer, Elaine Downs, and Bob Duncan; great grandparents, Nancy and Jerry Schmittauer and Ida Murphy; aunts and uncles, Heather and Jerry Schmittauer, Adam and Tracy Downs, Richard "Dickie" Downs; and lots of cousins and extended family. He was preceded in death by his grandfather Jack Downs and extended family Gary Hill. Funeral service will be held 7 p.m. Thursday, October 20, 2016 at HALTEMAN-FETT & DYER FUNERAL HOME. Friends may call from 5-7 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home. Family has requested no flowers. Memorial contributions can be made to Julie and Joseph "Eric" Downs in Carter's name.
