Catherine Mawhirter Obituary
Catherine "Kate" Mawhirter, age 84, of Columbus, passed away Friday, July 28, 2017. Preceded in death by her loving husband Jack Mawhirter (2005), parents Red and Mary Fleming, sister Virginia "Jinks" Melfi and brother Pat Fleming. She is survived by children, Charles (Jane) Mawhirter, John (Dianne) Mawhirter and Karen (Cory) Estabrook; grandchildren, Brian (Hannah) Estabrook, Carey (Bobby) Means, Dennis (Katy Hogan) Mawhirter, David (Jen) Mawhirter, Nathan Mawhirter, and Aaron Mawhirter; great-granddaughter, Evelyn Means; sister, Mary Ellen Ray, sister-in-law, Sharen Fleming; cousin, Danny (Joanne) Schaaf; along with many nieces, nephews, loving relatives and friends. Kate was a member of the Holy Family and Central Alumni Associations, as well as a long- time member of Clinton Heights Lutheran Church. A Memorial Service will be held 11 a.m. Monday, July 31, 2017 at Clinton Heights Lutheran Church, 15 Clinton Heights Ave., Columbus, OH 43202 with Pastor Ralph Wolfe officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the time of service. Memorial contributions may be made in Kate's honor to Clinton Heights Lutheran Church at the address above; Holy Family Assoc., 584 W. Broad St., Columbus, OH 43215 or Central H.S. Alumni Association, P.O. Box 842, Hilliard, OH 43026. You may send condolences to the family by visiting www.OhioCremation.org.
