His voice, that is what I will miss.

As a kid, I remember my dad singing Jim Reeves songs, and doing them better than Jim Reeves himself. With a voice as smooth as velvet, and as rich as cream.

I also remember him saying to me as a young child “If you don’t have something nice to say, don’t say anything at all.” I certainly didn’t understand at the time, that that statement would define my father for most of his life. But I knew that somehow it was important to remember.

As his daughter, I knew him as a man steadfast in his loyalty to his family. I never doubted his strength of commitment to us.

When I had children of my own, his words, and his strength guided my way.

I am still listening to my father’s voice

God Bless you Dad.
I will miss you always, Bev

Barb, Bert and Bev, you have my deepest sympathy. Although we have not kept in close contact over the years, Uncle Charles and I sent our annual Christmas Cards and I always looked forward to his little notes and amusing thoughts. I have always known he truly understood and I will miss him.

Chuck, my grandfather, was a man's man. He had a huge heart. We lived many miles away, and rarely saw each other when I was growing up. He began wintering in Arizona when I was an adult and I grew to love him and cherish the time we had. I will miss his voice on the telephone saying "Hey Babe, how've you been?" He had a special affection for my son Jake, who is always in trouble and Grandpa found that quite charming, much to my dismay. Rest in peace Grandpa. I love you.
