Chuck was truly a great man. Many years ago, during the funeral for my dad, he recognized my struggle with the entire process. He knew my Dad because we lived in the Sugar Grove area. Chuck came to me, took my hands into his, and said to me "It will never get better, but it will get easier". That became my mantra and I have shared it endlessly. I will always remember those words that brought peace to me. Fly high Chuck, you have earned your wings.

When my father was transported to OSU hospital back in 1962, Chuck drove. As they unloaded my father, the door blew back and Chuck was slightly injured...but he refused to leave my mother's side to get treatment until my father was safely in his room. When daddy passed away, he was so very kind...I alway called him Uncle Chuck. The world has one less Angel, and Heaven has gained one more!! RIP, UncleChuck.

Janet,
I remember Chuck as "Hedgie" which is what my parents and my grandma, Wanda Thimmes, always called him. My fondest memories are of him smiling and saying hello to my brother Doug and I as we rode our bicycles in the funeral home parking lot. That was 35 years ago. My deepest condolences.

During the calling hours for my first husband who died suddenly in a car accident, the stress and pain became unbearable and I began to crumble. Chuck came running to my side, and quickly escorted me into his actual home quarters at the funeral home. He sat me on his couch, put a huge cold Pepsi in my hand, hugged me and told me to stay as long as I needed. He will NEVER know what that meant to me at that moment. I will truly miss you my friend. My prayers to your family.
