Charles Root Obituary

ROOT Charles Monroe Root, 63, of Circleville, died January 22, 2006 in Berger Hospital, Circleville. He was born November 13, 1942 in Freemont, Ohio, the son of the late Wayne Arthur and Grace Brugger Root. Mr. Root was a veteran of the Ohio National Guard from 1960 to 1964, worked in the family business, Root's Poultry in Freemont, Ohio, was a Financial Planner for several years and worked as an executive chef for many years at, among others, Billy Crickets in Lancaster, J.R. Hooks Cafe', Court and Main Restaurant. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church in Circleville. Survivors include his son, Austin (Tracey) Root of Connecticut; sisters, Beth (Ervin) Damschroder of Gibsonburg; brothers, Richard (Mary) Root of Freemont and Lester Root of Clyde; sister, Judy (Albert "Butch") Cravens of Clyde; several nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by brothers Robert and David. Friends may call 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, January 25, 2006 at the MADER-PETERS FUNERAL HOME, Circleville, where following the visitation a brief memorial service will be held. Friends may call 5-7 p.m. Thursday, January 26, 2006 at the Auxter Funeral Home in Clyde, Oh., where service will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday, January 27, 2006 with Rev. William Campbell officiating. Burial will follow in Four Mile House Cemetery in Freemont. Memorial contributions may be made to The Presbyterian Church, PO Box 147, Circleville Ohio, 43113 or to the American Cancer Society.
