His idea of a good vacation was to drive hundreds of miles or to fly across the continent to visit with his extended family. He loved people, loved his work and was loved by many, many people whose lives he affected with his service, friendship and caring. His passion was supporting people during their time of need. Mrs, Zweizig was a good mother and complemented her preacher husband very well. After his death, she remained good friends with another minister's widow. She remained active and had friends who took her to church occasions. My brother Glenn, (who knew Zweizig's well as asst. minister at Salem), I, and my wife sang to her at Phoebe Home as she lay unconsious from her stroke. An "abider" was also present. Grace Zweizig took a personal interest in me far after I was her math student in eighth grade.

Pastor Chuck will be truly missed. He always liked telling the story that one of his first home visitations as the new pastor at First United Church of Christ was when my son, Kyle was born...that was 26 years ago. He performed my son's wedding ceremony 3 years ago. Chuck was a good friend to my parents and a source of comfort when we lost our father in 2010. He will be truly missed by all who's lives he has touched. My prayers go to all his family.

Chuck was a tremendous blessing in my life. He was my pastor, my mentor, my coach, and my dear friend. He was our church pastor in Worthington during my formative middle and high school years, instilling the foundation of my faith. He was my youth group leader during the tumultuous late 60's and early 70's, helping me see the heart of God and the potential for goodness in all people. He presided over my wedding to wife, Linda, with flowing words of sanctification that only Chuck can espouse. He was the comforting presence at the tribute to my mother's life, with a loving eulogy that filled the chapel with her spirit.

Chuck lived his life in the service of others: a kind word, an uplifting phone call, an arm around the shoulder, a pat on the back, a tender bedside visit, a play on words to lift the spirit, a heart-felt message from the pulpit, a full-face grin, a hearty smile, an in-depth note on a Christmas card, and a quote of scripture at just the right occasion.

I, as others, am deeply saddened by the loss of our friend, but am forever grateful for the blessing of Chuck in my life. He helped me to become a better husband, father, colleague, friend, and Believer. His legacy of love, friendship, and concern for others lives on in everyone who knew him, and in as much, Chuck will always be with us. May we carry on this legacy in his honor.

I worked with Chuck at the Charles B. Mills Center in Marysville. He was always in tune with a persons feelings and I am blessed with having known him.

I loved Chuck. He was so much fun and so witty. I enjoyed campaigning and going to rallies with Chuck. He was there to comfort me when I needed it. I will miss my friend.
So sorry for your loss to his entire family. I know he is in heaven where he belongs.
