Dear Mrs. Morris and Josh,
I was a wrestler when Coach Morris first started working with the WCHS team. I am grateful for all coach Morris did for us and the WCHS wrestling program over the years. I remember when Coach prayed it reminded me of what the Bible says about Moses in Exodus 33. It was very good for so many young men to be led by a man who spoke to God as a man speaks to his friend—no pillar of cloud but I could tell that Coach was friends with God. I look forward to seeing Coach Morris in heaven someday. I will always enjoy my memories of the big van, watching Josh wrestle as well as a high school kid even when he was very young and tiny, and the few times I wrestled Coach Morris when I did not have a partner close enough to my size in practices.

The impact that Chris had on Scouting in Wortington and the entire Central Ohio area has been inspiring. He was a passionate leader, mentor and guide of both youth and adults on the path of life. My thoughts and prayers are with you, your family, and all of the friends you touched in life.

On behalf of Boy Scout Troop 268 we wish to express our heartfelt condolences to Sharon and Josh Morris. We have lost a truly generous man and supporter of Scouting. While Chris hung his Scout cap at Troop 268 he loved the Boy Scout Organization and gave his time and energy to Cub Scout and Boy Scout troops throughout Central Ohio. Chris used to say, “We need to show these Scouts how to become leaders and then develop them into successful leaders who can pass on their knowledge and help other Troops, Packs and Scouts.” Chris was very proud of his Eagle Scout son Josh and the many 268 Scouts who he helped guide, whether they achieved Eagle rank or not. Chris was in his element teaching skills and introducing scouts to new capabilities, especially shooting proficiency. We mourn the loss of our friend, celebrate the life of our colleague and rejoice in learning the name of an angel.

Sharon & Josh keeping you both in prayer. Chris had a heart full of Jesus he gave so much and cared for all he touched. We connected from our first meeting to the present. The big efforts during the last few Father Child Retreats by the puppets touched many children for Jesus. What a talented person. He will be missed.

I didn't get to meet Chris or Sharon, but I know their son Josh and my heart goes out to them both with losing a husband and father. I've heard amazing stories from Josh and my son Jon. And, they took my son into their lives and treated him as their own. I will always remember the stories and can't help but wonder how many many youth and people this man touched in his short life time. May our Heavenly Father wrap His arms around Sharon and Josh and bring them comfort in the days ahead.

It was inspiring to see Chris work so hard for his beloved Scout families over the years. I enjoyed the pleasure of his company and of his enthusiasm for bringing new opportunities to Scouts. I will never forget the pride he had when Josh earned Eagle rank. I will miss you Chris.
