Clayton Gaines Obituary

GAINES Clayton Dale Gaines, age 81, passed away on Friday, September 16, 2011. He was born in Hamilton, OH to the late Dale and Francis Gaines on August 9, 1930. Also preceded in death by sister Shirley Loffer. Clayton is survived by the love of his life, Margaret with whom he was married to for 58 years; children, Greg (Darlene) Gaines, Steve (Sherry) Gaines, Angie (Kelley) Hammel; 11 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Clayton was a loving and dedicated husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather and will be missed by all. He received an Honorable discharge from the United States Army in February, 1954 after serving as a Sergeant in the Koren War in the Third Armored Division. He was a longtime member of the Reynoldsburg Church of Christ, and a loyal and dedicated employee of the Columbus Dispatch Printing Co. for 45 years, where he retired as a State Division Manager on September 1, 1995. The family would like to thank the doctors and staff at Mt Carmel East Hospital for the months of dedicated and caring care given to our loved one. Family will receive friends from 10-11 a.m. on Monday, September 19, 2011 at the Reynoldsburg Church of Christ, 1649 Graham Rd, Reynoldsburg, Oh, followed by a funeral service at the same location, officiated by son Greg Gaines. Burial will be in Hamilton, OH on the same day at 3:30 p.m. www.cotnerfuneralhome.com

I'm sure going to miss seeing Clayton playing cards with everyone during family gatherings. He'll be missed but God called His child home to glory and for that we can all be grateful.
