Daniel Dunn Obituary

Dunn Daniel William Dunn, 73, departed for the great golf course in the sky on March 30, 2017 after enduring an extended cardiovascular illness. He was born August 9, 1943 at Grant Medical Center in Columbus to the late Bernard and Margaret (Jordan) Dunn of German Village. He was a graduate of St. Mary Catholic School, Central High School and lived his entire life in Columbus or Grove City. Dan was a proud 50+ year union member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Local 683, and retired from Columbus Show Case Co. in 1998. He had a biting sense of humor, but was as quick to direct his wit at himself as others. Dan loved the Buckeyes and the Browns, and was an avid, yet over-par, golfer. He volunteered in the Grove City Kids Association, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help church, and for the Grove City High School Band Boosters. Dan was preceded in death by his brother Tom Dunn, his niece Lisa Dunn, and his nephew Ken Campbell. He is survived by his sister, Margaret (Chuck) Campbell; his sons, Dennis (Sangkhom) Dunn and Steven Dunn; his grandson, Donovan Dunn; ex-wife, Sue Dunn, and many nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends on Monday, April 3, 2017 from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. at EGAN-RYAN FUNERAL HOME, 403 E. Broad St., Columbus. A funeral service will be held Monday, April 3, 2017 at 1:30 p.m. at the chapel at St. Joseph's Cemetery, 6440 S. High St., Lockbourne with interment to follow. Visit www.egan-ryan.com for condolences. Dan was a good man and will be sorely missed.

To My "Danny". You were only 16 and I 12 when we met and you asked me for my phone number, and you were a great man, husband and father, and my rock for 48 years. I loved you so very much and will miss you with all my heart. As sad, heartbreaking and difficult as it was, I am so glad that I was able to help and take care of you as long as I could over the years, and to also spend your final days, hours, minutes, and seconds with you, and be there to tell you how much you are loved, and to be able to hold your hand as you took your final breath. I am so VERY sorry that you had to suffer these last 19 yrs. from your stroke, and that our lives, marriage and family were destroyed because of it, but I am so very happy that you are now at peace and are no longer suffering. I will think of you each and every day until the day I die. Goodbye, my loving, kind, funny, wonderful man. Your "Susie".
