Witmers - I am so sorry to hear about Dan. I supported him about 25 years ago at Deloitte and recall wonderful memories of him. My prayers and thoughts to your family.

Dear Marcia, Kerry and Stephanie,
Just heard the news... and I'm so sorry for your loss :(
This poem has comforted me through the passing of many people that I've held dear and I hope it does the same for you...
God saw you getting tired,
And a cure was not to be.
So he put his arms around you,
And whispered “Come to me”.
With tearful eyes we watched you,
And saw you pass away.
Although we loved you dearly,
We could not make you stay.
A golden heart stopped beating,
Hard working hands to rest.
God broke our hearts
to prove to us,
He only takes the best.

Marcia, Kerry and Stephanie,
Suzy and I were stunned to read about Dan.
While we have obviously done an abysmal job of keeping in touch, no amount of time or distance could ever make us forget the wonderful nature of your husband and father. We remember his million-dollar smile and effervescent personality.
We can still see the enthusiasm he poured into dancing at Suzy's 30th birthday party. I think he was doing The Twist on our living room carpet when he sprained his knee that later needed surgery.
Please know that you are in our thoughts and that we will always remember Dan with much affection.
