Ratchford Family
I wish your family my deepest sympathies. I was a friend of Devon from Wittenberg. As I knew him, he was one of those rare people who could light up a room with his presence. He had a vitality and love of adventure and the outdoors that was contagious, I always looked forward to spend time with him. He also had a depth of spirit and a sensitivity toward others that was a true gift. Devon was a beautiful person, I am blessed to have known him.

Devon had the most patience, compassion and understanding towards his elderly patients. He would always take his time when he came to see them. I remember one day he came for his rounds and I had a patient that was doing poorly in the room next to his patient. Even thought this resident wasn't his patient he went over, held her hand and waited with her until the ambulance came. The last thing she said before leaving was he was an angel. Devon you will be greatly missed here. Look around up there because there is a resident that will be so happy to see her angel again.

To the family of Devon.

I was a patient of Devon in Lancaster for over a year after I had my cancer operation. I found him to be the most sensitive person...friendly person and he had such a deep knowledge of a promising Dr. to be.

I remember him as trying his hardest to get my blood thinner just right...trying for the few months up to March. I saw the joy in him when he finally succeeded.

I remember he said I didn't have to come back as I was having my INR drawn at a lab and Devon's receptionist would just give me a call.
He said he was leaving for Pickerington. I got my good-by hug from the finest Dr. Assistant a person could have.

You have my DEEPEST SYMPATHY!

My heart goes out to the family and friends of Devon. He will be missed by many but forgotten by few. His son Ryan will have special memories of the good times with his father, All the car shows, boating activities and vacations they were able to take and of course the extra special times with Devon out at his grandfathers while playing and learning of his fathers childhood as they walked and played together. God Bless You All..
