Donald Fox Obituary

FOX Donald A. Fox, age 79, lifelong resident of Lancaster, passed away Tuesday, August 16, 2005 at University Hospital in Columbus. Don was a veteran of World War II having served in the Army Air Corps. He was a plumber for 45 years with Fox Plumbing and Heating and Plumbers and Pipefitters Local 189. He also served the state of Ohio as a pressure piping inspector. Don was a lifetime member of St. Mary Church, member of Amvets Post 1985, lifetime member of American Legion Post 11, and Knights of Columbus Council 1016 for 62 years. A loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and best friend, Don is survived by his wife of 58 years, Mary Elizabeth (Uhl); sons, D. Gregory (Carol) of Port Clinton, Joseph (Becky) of Lancaster, Philip (Scarlett) of Orient; daughters, Donna (David) Moore and Helen (Brad) Changet of Lancaster and Christine of Columbus; nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Helen Zita (Criste). Friends may visit from 3 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at SHERIDAN FUNERAL HOME, 222 S. Columbus St., Lancaster, with a Vigil service at 8:30 p.m. Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church with Fr. Donald E. Franks as celebrant. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery with military graveside honors conducted by the Lancaster Ohio Veterans Burial Squad. Memorial contributions can be made to St. Mary Church, 132 S. High St., Lancaster, Ohio 43130 or St. Mary School, 309 E. Chestnut St., Lancaster, Ohio 43130.
