Donald Herman Ludwig, Jr., 82, formerly of Pickerington, passed away on Friday, January 19, 2018 at The Forum at Knightsbridge in Columbus. Born on November 22, 1935 to the late, Donald and Mary Ludwig, Don Jr. was a 1953 graduate of St. Mary's High School in Lancaster. He worked for the Kroger Company over 46 years, retiring as an Assistant VP of Operations. He was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church and was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 1016. Don was the ultimate family man and will be remembered as a generous and loving mentor, hero, and friend by those who knew him. He is survived by his children, Cathy (John) Price, Cheri Roell, Tom (Province) Ludwig, Jane (Mike) Hanley, John (Vicky) Ludwig, David (Kelly) Ludwig, and Theresa (Mark) Stewart; 16 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; siblings, Robert (Elaine) Ludwig, Michael (Patty) Ludwig, and Marci (James) Lynch; brother-in-law, Brother Joseph Fox, CSC; and sister-in-law, Mary Motter. Don was preceded in death by his wife, Joann Ludwig. Friends may visit from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, January 25 at the DWAYNE R. SPENCE FUNERAL HOME, 550 Hill Rd. N., Pickerington, OH 43147. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, January 26 at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 1051 Waggoner Rd., Reynoldsburg, OH 43068. Interment at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery.
