Donald Moody Obituary

Moody Donald J. Moody was born on January 6, 1943 in Barberton, OH and died on January 30, 2014 in Columbus. He was preceded in death by his parents Richard Creighton and Edith Jeanne (Sickels) Moody, his sister Jan and his brother-in-law Bob Pringle. He is survived by his wife, Ann Pringle Moody; his sister, Beth (Bill) Marks; and his sister-in-law, Patti Pringle. Don is also survived by his nieces, Kristin Marks, Lori Marks, Susan (Douglas Wagoner) Pringle, Mary (Chris) Gardner, and Keri Hickman; as well as grand-nieces and nephews, Emma and Max Gardner, Baden Wagoner, and Megan Hickman. Don's mother claimed that he ran away from home to attend The Ohio State University and never returned. After graduation with a degree in Chemistry, Don served stateside in the US Army demonstrating the detonation/destruction of chemical weapons. He complained, to put it mildly, of Army life, but later was proud to have served. He retired from Chemical Abstracts Services. In keeping with Don's wishes, there will be no services. If desired, donations may be made to The Alzheimer's Association Central Ohio Chapter, 1379 Dublin Road, Columbus, OH 43215. Arrangements entrusted to SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST CHAPEL.

It saddens me to learn of Don´s passing. He and I connected over our family history. I´ve often thought of him. I´m sorry for your loss and will remember him fondly.

I am very sorry for your loss. Don and I were friends throughout our undergraduate days at Ohio State. We met the first week of our first quarter on campus. He was a kid from the sticks in Norton and I was a kid from the sticks in Tallmadge and there we were sitting in a chemistry class at this huge university. We became friends and remained friends until we separated at graduation - in fact there was a small cadre of chemistry majors who trudged in and out labs and shared complaints with each other for four years. One of my most vivid memories from our first quarter on campus was the day Don and I were talking in chemistry class late on afternoon and decided to meet on the oval that evening to join the Rose Bowl riots. We milled around and watched what was going on and had a great time.Although we lost track after graduation I have thought about him frequently over the years and was saddened by the news. Don was a good person.

Dear Ann,

I was so sorry to learn of Don's passing. I worked with him in Employment. I told him one time that one of the best things about his being my boss was his sense of humor. He will be missed.

My dearest friend, I am so very sorry for the loss of our Don. He walked me down the isle at our wedding 35 years ago and he will always hold a special place in my heart.
